Good morning from London, where, if you haven’t heard by now, Mike Bloomberg officially unveiled our spectacular new London headquarters.  He was joined by Norman Foster and London Mayor Sadiq Khan at a press conference where he underscored how the building was designed around our company’s core values of transparency, openness, collaboration, innovation and civic responsibility.

We can all be proud of this accomplishment that, as Mike puts it, affirms our commitment to London and our optimism about the city’s future and our own.

Foster + Partners, the architects behind our new London headquarters, also did Apple’s new $5B headquarters in Cupertino, California.  The FT notes: “But unlike its circular Cupertino counterpart, the 1.1 million square foot Bloomberg building in London was deliberately designed to blend in to its surroundings.” Bloomberg to Open £1bn City of London Headquarters (Financial Times – subscription)

Featuring a giant 210 meter ramp at its heart that aims to encourage collaboration between workers and a pantry with views over London, the new HQ will house more than 4,000 employees in London.  Here’s what it looks like: Bloomberg Has Opened A Huge New Norman Foster-Designed HQ in London (Business Insider)
