  • Chinese President Xi Jinping addresses the country’s first International Import Expo. In Shanghai, through Nov. 10.
Tuesday, Nov. 6
  • U.S. midterm elections will determine whether Republicans keep control of Congress, and set the stage for President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election bid.
  • The Bloomberg New Economy Forum, a gathering of more than 400 world and business leaders, begins in Singapore through Nov. 7.
  • World Bank conference on global financing is co-hosted by the governments of Norway and Burkina Faso, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In Oslo.

  • Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visits Beijing to meet with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
Thursday, Nov. 8
  • Federal Reserve policy makers are expected to leave the main interest rate unchanged at their next-to-last gathering this year.
Friday, Nov. 9
  • World leaders including Trump, Merkel, Macron and Putin gather in Paris for Armistice Day celebrations marking 100 years since the end of World War I.
  • European Union foreign affairs ministers meet to discuss modernizing the World Trade Organization, review the latest free-trade agreements, and discuss screening foreign direct investments. In Brussels.
