Bulletin: Joe Biden Is Diagnosed With ‘Aggressive’ Form of Prostate Cancer (Bloomberg)
Cancer has been an important issue to Biden. His son Beau died in 2015 after battling brain cancer. And Biden worked on a “cancer moonshot” initiative before and during his presidency, working for more research funding to fight cancer.
Biden is being praised for his efforts in spearheading Cancer Moonshot,
an initiative that's designed to improve treatments and combat rates of the disease.
Dr. Judd Moul, a prostate cancer expert at Duke University, told the New York Times that he sees men Biden’s age with Stage 4 prostate cancers on a regular basis and is much more optimistic now than ever before.
“We have a lot more tools in our toolbox,” Dr. Moul said. “Survival rates have almost tripled in the last decade. I can’t fathom how much change has taken place.”

Centrists Hold in Elections Across EU: Romanian Centrist Beats Far-Right and Tusk Ally Advances in Poland (Bloomberg)

Nicusor Dan, an independent and one-time math prodigy, beat George Simion, of the far-right Alliance for the Unity of Romanians, by 54% to 46%.
In Poland, Warsaw’s mayor edged out his rival from the populist right in the first round of voting as the two men went through to a presidential runoff on June 1.
Portugal’s center-right prime minister, Luis Montenegro, boosted his support although he’s set to lead another fragile minority government.
