About the Daily Read
The Daily Read is a platform that aims to inform people across the Bloomberg universe and beyond, authored by Kevin Sheekey, global head of external relations at Bloomberg LP.
Kevin began his career on Capitol Hill working with New York Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan in a number of roles in his office, from executive assistant to chief of staff. A Washingtonian by birth, working in Senator Moynihan’s office gave Kevin an introduction to New York – politics, culture, and all. He was introduced to an upstart New York entrepreneur who wanted to better navigate Washington – that man was Mike Bloomberg. The rest, many would say, is history.
Since joining Bloomberg, Kevin has helped expand the financial technology company’s presence in Washington and beyond. He has managed a number of political campaigns for Mike Bloomberg – including three successful campaigns for mayor of New York City.
When Mike was Mayor of New York City, Kevin served as the city’s Deputy Mayor for Government Affairs among other roles.
Today, Kevin leads the global external relations team at Bloomberg LP, directing communications and external engagements and philanthropic efforts the company does around the world with clients, government officials, partner organizations and the public.
Kevin started writing the Daily Read in 2017 as a way to share a quick snapshot of the news of the day for Bloomberg leaders and his team. As the reach of the newsletter has extended beyond the company, so has the content and depth of information. Now, the newsletter is sent to thousands around the world each day with a quick and informative snapshot of global news and updates from the world of Bloomberg.
