Tech Review: Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer

By Kevin Sheekey

I recently bought a pair of Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer sunglasses and, as anyone around me knows, I’m loving them. These glasses are a game-changer.

Meta has brought a new product category to life and they’ve nailed the execution. Unlike limited use case, and bulky, AR/VR glasses, they look just like classic Wayfarers, blending seamlessly into daily life.

The audio quality, with five microphones and terrific speakers, makes listening to music and phone calls a remarkable experience with hands-free functionality. The 12MP camera also captures very impressive photos and 1080p videos. Battery life is decent at 4 hours, and the well constructed and stylish charging case provides extra juice, functioning just like an iPod charging case.

While they’re pricier than regular Ray-Bans, the added tech makes them well worth it. Overall, these glasses have become an indispensable part of my daily routine. I imagine in short order these, and similar glasses, will replace a good percentage of the time we currently wear in-ear headphones.

The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses actually make the future look cool. Click here to read more from The Verge about the glasses and click here to shop for your own pair.
